Harmony Haven National Trust is building a dignity-first ecosystem designed to help people move from crisis toward lasting stability.

Our work brings together housing, youth support, family preservation, food and essential resources, education, community partnerships, and long-term systems reform.

We believe people should not have to become more broken before they qualify for help.

WHY HARMONY HAVEN EXISTS

How do we stabilize the children without first stabilizing the adults they turn into?

Harmony Haven began with a vision for children: creating safe, stable environments where young people could heal, learn, grow, and enter adulthood with real support behind them.

But the deeper we looked, the clearer something became.

A child does not exist separately from their family.

Homelessness does not exist separately from housing.

Hunger does not exist separately from poverty.

Family separation does not exist separately from instability.

And none of these problems can be solved sustainably when every service operates in isolation.

So Harmony Haven grew.

Today, we are developing an interconnected model designed to intervene earlier, stabilize people with dignity, strengthen families, protect young people, and create pathways toward long-term independence.

OUR JOURNEY

FROM AN IDEA TO AN INFRASTRUCTURE

WHAT WE'VE DONE

Harmony Haven National Trust began developing its model in 2025 around a simple question: What would support look like if it were designed around what people actually need rather than around the limitations of existing systems?

Since then, we have:

• Established Harmony Haven National Trust in Washington.

• Developed the foundation for our Sanctuary model for children and young people.

• Expanded our work to address adult stabilization, homelessness, youth prevention, family preservation, food insecurity, and dignity-first access to essential resources.

• Developed the Subterra stabilization and transitional housing concept.

• Begun building relationships with community organizations, public agencies, educators, service providers, property stakeholders, and potential partners.

• Pursued locations and facilities capable of supporting future programs and pilot projects.

• Conducted community outreach, donation drives, fundraising development, and partnership outreach.

• Continued developing policy and systems-reform proposals based on gaps identified in housing, homelessness, child welfare, and social-service systems.

WHAT WE'RE DOING NOW

Harmony Haven is currently in its development and capacity-building stage.

We are working to:

• Secure property and facilities for pilot programs.

• Develop Subterra as a dignity-centered stabilization and transitional housing model.

• Advance the Harmony Haven Sanctuary model.

• Build youth prevention and drop-in services.

• Develop dignity-first food and essential-resource programs.

• Expand community, nonprofit, government, educational, and private-sector partnerships.

• Build fundraising capacity and organizational infrastructure.

• Develop opportunities for volunteers, professional partners, donors, and community members to participate.

• Continue advocating for systems that intervene earlier and support people longer.

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING TOWARD

Our long-term goal is larger than any single building or program.

Harmony Haven is working toward an interconnected network of services and communities capable of supporting people at different points in life and different stages of crisis.

We envision a future where communities can prevent instability earlier, preserve families whenever safely possible, provide meaningful pathways out of homelessness, protect young people before they fall through systemic gaps, and help people build lives that no longer depend on crisis systems.

Our goal is to begin locally, learn from measurable outcomes, strengthen the model, and ultimately create approaches that can be adapted by communities across the country.

OUR WORK

ONE ECOSYSTEM. MULTIPLE PATHWAYS.

SUBTERRA

A dignity-centered stabilization and transitional housing model designed to help adults move from homelessness and crisis toward permanent stability.

The model is being developed around practical realities: people have partners, pets, possessions, responsibilities, trauma, and lives that do not disappear simply because they need housing.

SANCTUARIES

Long-term, child-centered environments designed around safety, stability, education, healing, continuity, healthy relationships, and preparation for adulthood.

The goal is not simply to shelter children.

It is to help build a foundation from which they can thrive.

YOUTH PREVENTION & DROP-IN SUPPORT

Reaching young people before temporary instability becomes chronic homelessness, exploitation, deeper system involvement, or long-term crisis.

Prevention should begin before someone reaches the bottom.

DIGNITY-FIRST FOOD & PROVISIONING

Food, clothing, hygiene supplies, household essentials, and other basic resources should be provided with quality, safety, choice, and respect.

Poverty should never be treated as permission to strip dignity from people.

FAMILY PRESERVATION & STABILIZATION

When it is safe and appropriate, families should have meaningful opportunities to stabilize before separation becomes the solution.

Housing, food, healthcare, education, transportation, employment, and family support are interconnected pieces of stability.

SYSTEMS REFORM

Harmony Haven also examines the gaps people encounter within housing, homelessness, child welfare, and social-service systems.

We believe reform should be informed by lived experience, measurable outcomes, community voices, and solutions that address causes rather than repeatedly managing consequences.

OUR MODEL

THIS IS NOT JUST A PROGRAM.

IT IS INFRASTRUCTURE.

Traditional services are often divided into separate systems.

Housing over here.

Food over there.

Youth services somewhere else.

Healthcare in another building.

Family support through another agency.

Employment assistance through another application.

And the person in crisis is expected to somehow navigate all of it.

Harmony Haven is being designed differently.

Our model connects the pieces.

Stabilization creates room for healing.

Housing creates room for employment.

Food security creates room for learning.

Family support can prevent deeper crisis.

Youth intervention can change an entire adulthood.

And long-term support can turn temporary stabilization into lasting independence.

We are building around people, not around bureaucratic boxes.
